I TOTALLY second Kristi's feedback. Technicians need lots of rehearsals, too. As an educator of Scenic Painters, I was astounded to realize that we are the only performers in this business that actually do not get ANY rehearsal. That's when I started to be sure that my classes included practice activities, ...

This perspective certainly is what we still need to be doing until this virus and it's variants are at much less risk. I just think that the ...

Hi, The RB Molding cloth isn't very sturdy (it's like tin foil between two layers of lightweight Muslin) and would need something to support it. That being said, If you are going to use chicken wire or Hardware cloth as a support anyway, you might as well use smallish pieces of muslin instead, (cut up ...

I did this once, too!! It was with some Boces Students and where we had to work was in a wall in a hallway on cement block. As I recall, we put some of that thin plastic up first and used 2" masking tape to tape each one to the wall. we did linework first. Drew in charcoal or chalk first, then dark lines ...

As an educator of Scenic Painters, the discussion of pay often comes up. There is surely a spectrum of theatre workers out there, and they would come with their various price ranges. Often what a young technician takes away of value isn't money.  The  Summer stock experience is case in point, they get ...
