Hello All! I'm trying to convince my administration to let my seniors wear their Thespian cords at graduation. This was something they allowed until last year. If your school allows this - will you please respond with your school name, city and state? I want to provide them with a list of schools ...

I just did Folk Tails by Lisa Abbot. It's available on Pioneer Drama. It's a collection of folk tales so its super flexible on cast size and timing. I also put my students in charge of all the costumes and props so its a fun challenge for them to be creative! ------------------------------ Stephanie ...

I would say no, but I don't actually have my officer sworn in at inductions. We typically don't have our officer elections until the fall. That does sound like a cool idea though. We do awards for best performer in a play, musical, supporting performer, ensemble. Pretty much any category from the Tony's as well as some fun "People's Choice Awards" such as most likely to touch someone else's prop, most likely to pull an all-nighter learning their lines, fun stuff like that. We ...

I love the murder mysteries on Pioneer Drama as well! We've done WCKY, Murderous Night at the Museum, Murder on the Orient Express, The Groom Has Cold Feet, and A Family Reunion to Die For. All are very fun and have different crazy stereotypical characters that my students really enjoyed playing! ...

I'm looking for someone in the South Bend, Indiana area to oversee the light/sound equipment for my production in March. The person who usually fulfills this role at my school left unexpectedly, leaving me with a lot of equipment I don't know how to program or use and not a lot of time to find someone ...

Thanks for the suggestions all! My sour kangaroo from last year can play a variety of character type roles. I described her as sassy because I see her thriving in non wimpy princess roles. So villains like Ursula or strong female leads like Fiona are great possibilities for her! I don't think we would ...

Hey All! I'm looking for suggestions for our next musical. We did Annie as our first one in 36 years last spring. I have mostly ensemble kids but have 2-3 really great guys and a few girls who could pull off a lead possibly more of a character role. We are a pretty small school but I'm guessing I'll ...

I love murder mysteries! We do one every single fall. I ALWAYS swear my kids to secrecy at our first all cast read through. I have them raise their hand and repeat after me some sort of pledge. The pledge makes it fun but it also shows that I'm serious about not spoiling anything. I pretty much tell ...

Thanks for your ideas. Yes, we do use spike tape to mark out all our walls and entrances in different colors so we don't have to move our walls until show week. Our walls are wooden frames with canvas stretched across. They were donated to our dept by a local church. We then built a wooden frame behind them so they would stand up on their own. They are in sections and we change up the number of them that we use for each show. Here is a picture from our most ...
