I am wondering if anyone has had a student run for office for the thespian student board who is not able to attend the induction ceremony where the new officers are introduced and "sworn into" office.  Must students be present in order to accept the new officer position? I have never had this happen before.  Thanks in advance for your answers.

I would say no, but I don't actually have my officer sworn in at inductions. We typically don't have our officer elections until the fall.

That does sound like a cool idea though. What do you have them say?

Once in a while, I have had an officer not able to attend due to illness, fieldtrip, or other excused reasons.  When that happens, they are announced that evening and take the oath of office (I have them repeat the Thespian Oath) at the next Drama Club meeting.
