We just began rehearsals for Airness (high school edition) (2019) by Chelsea Marcantel and available through Playscripts. It's about air guitar contestants and the soundtrack is a trip back to some rocking tunes! We're having a great time with the characters and the air guitar!!! ------------------------------ ...

Hello! We made our Tiamat heads from cardboard and paint! Each part of the Tiamat was crafted by the actor who wore it! We Loved SKM-- If you want to reach out for our other images/ideas, please do. cclayton@newpal.k12.in.us. ------------------------------ Caroline Clayton Teacher ---------------- ...

Good morning. We produced SKM in 2019 to thunderous applause from many and the disdain and annoyance of a very few; one person went so far as to reach out to her local congress member to lodge a specific complaint with him. That person's complaints were about "bullying" but by time it got to my superintendent, ...

Hi- when I cast SKM:YAE, I pulled out some of the tripled parts. I left the D&D/real life pairings, but pulled out Narrator/Farrah, Evil Gabbi and Evil Tina, and The Great Mage Steve.  We were able to add another 4 kids so they could get on-stage experience. It worked out really well. Good Luck-- I ...

Hi Matt--  SKM is a fabulous and incredible show! Our best and most controversial show ever!!! I had a parent who tried to get me fired because of it-- it was INCREDIBLE and sooooo very worthwhile!!!! We staged in in April 2019. For Tiamat, we did as Scott Keys mentions, found patterns and created heads ...

Hi Josh. A few years ago we produced "Who Am I This Time" (Arron Posner) based on three short stories by Kurt Vonnegut. I highly recommend this play! Sweet and funny and full of literary allusions. The downside may be some alcohol use....  Good luck! ------------------------------ Caroline Clayton ...

I've selected the junior edition for our spring play, and I am super excited-- as are the students. I love the inclusive message of the play and I'm looking forward to the challenges of the fight scenes and costuming!  I too had concerns about some of the topics and language, but my principal didn't ...

Greetings.I need suggestions for plays for my high school students. We have schedule conflicts and space considerations that limit our use of the stage, so I cannot build a huge set. In the last couple of years we have staged Almost, Maine and Who Am I This Time (and Other Conundrums of Love). My students ...

We had fun with a play called Death by Design by Rob Urbanati (Samuel French). It's a fun murder mystery-- without actually killing anyone. cast of 8 (4/4). ------------------------------ Caroline Clayton Teacher New Palestine IN

I would suggest the Folger Shakespeare Library series Shakespeare Set Free -- their philosophy is to have students perform text instead of just reading it. They've 3-4 books coving Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Midsummer, Othello, and others. Plus they hold seminars around the country to show teachers ...

we had a blast doing Harvey! We did not edit out any dialogue, though we did take out the cigarettes. We made sure to add in a few more of Harvey's magic touches for Elwood's benefit. He bumped into chandeliers, he moved curtains, he opened drawers. We recruited students from the robotics team to do ...
