Have you thought about plays by Chuck Mee.  I'd suggest either BIG LOVE or PERFECT WEDDING.  He's fabulously fun.  I know he is a white male writer but his plays always offer a cornucopia of different people, sexualities, ethnicities, and cultures.  If I had the numbers to support it I would do it myself. ...

Does anyone know if there is any licensing available for the docu-theatre piece THE LINE written by Jessica Blank and recently produced online by The Public? It is taken from interviews with COVID first responders in NYC. I've reached to Jessica's agent and haven't heard anything back. Best, ...

I am very interested in this conversation.  Having seen a number of Zoom productions my sense is that direct address to the camera works best.  I think docu-drama seems to work well in this medium as the a camera becomes the audience and isn't a substitute for looking into another actor's eyes.  I know ...

I think teaching our students that theatre can be a catalyst to provoke, challenge, and inspire change is probably among the greatest gifts we can give as theatre educators. This year I am producing Josh Harmon's ADMISSIONS and Eric Ulloa's 26 PEBBLES. Last year I produced Sarah DeLappe's THE WOLVES. ...

They are legit.  I did AHSTF with them in Summer of '16.  Kids had a blast and they do almost all the planning which is such a load off.  Some downsides are that you only have a couple hours to Tech the entire show and on the day/eve of your performance you only have a half hour load-in/out pre and post ...

Some small changes.  We had to make a change in the lyric when Lexi says something about Labor Day weekend since the season of that what make sense story wise.  Needs to be in Spring to make coherent sense. Other small changes. Namely that Angel's death which now happens at the end of WITHOUT YOU is ...

I have an actor playing Joe Keller in ALL MY SONS. He has a deep, baritone voice and has serious gravitas on stage but I am having a hard time getting him to physicalize Joe's prowess, his larger than life being, and someone who takes up a large amount of space. He is the life of the party and knows ...
