There are many theatre/improv games that work well for the virtual format!  My advanced improv class produced a show as their final project for the semester.  Those watching were able to offer suggestions through the comments feature. Here is their show if you want to check it out.  https://www.yout ...

A few years ago, we did a production of MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM in a small local nature preserve.  There was an educational building/center on site that had a large meeting room where we did the opening scenes from the play then led the audience outside into the small woods. We began the play at dusk.  ...

We've done this with Alice in Wonderland and Christmas Carol. Both Are in the public domain. The students/cast created the script together after reading the novel collectively (we listened to an unabridged audiobook) It was an amazing experience both times! Broke them into groups, assigned each a chapter ...

Two Words--Drama Day!  We do three Drama Days a year--they are essentially a one day theatre camp for students in the area.  We do them on Saturdays-- one in December for students in Grades 1-3, one in February for Students in Grades 4-6, and one for middle school students in May.  My theatre students ...

I highly recommend creating your own adaptation.  The novel is in the public domain.  My cast and I read the novel together (well actually listened to an audiobook of Jim Dale reading as we followed along in the novel) then I divided them into small groups and gave each of them a chapter to adapt.  I ...

We've done stained glass for years using muslin and Rosco Supersaturated Paint.  The paint is made to be diluted and still not lose it's brilliance.  By watering it down, it become translucent when you paint it on the muslin.  Draw out your stained glass design, decide on your colors, and then paint ...

Since our auditorium doesn't have a pit, the orchestra is always on stage. Typically they are upstage against the back wall. Our typical pit size is about 30-35 student musicians. They have been on the floor, on a raised platform, or both. Any way it's a challenge. Most of the time they are hidden behind ...

We have had an improv troupe, Improvedy, at my school for the past 19 years.  It has grown into quite a phenomenon--we do four public shows a year for audiences of 200-300 as well as private gigs for businesses, Christmas parties, you name it.  It's all short form--based on games.  Much like the old ...

I've done CHRISTMAS CAROL many times over the years and have really favored Brian Way's adaptation.  But I would offer another suggestion--have you thought about creating your own adaptation?  I recently did this with my students for CAROL after a really wonderful experience adapting Carroll's ALICE ...
