Home Town: Akron, Ohio; Jackson, Ohio
I've been teaching at Troy High School in Troy, Ohio for 26 years in Speech I & II, ACP/CCP Public Speaking (Dual Enrollment course through Indiana University and Edison State Community College), Drama I, II and III, English 9, Honors English 9 and American Literature II. I have enjoyed each class and look forward to trying something new each year.
I also advise the Drama Club: International Thespian Troupe 1553 and direct the stage productions at the high school. We produce 3-5 productions a year. Highlights for me include The Importance of Being Earnest, Godspell, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Once on this Island Junior, Chicago and Korczak's Children.
Thespian meetings are held the first Thursday of each month in the Studio Theatre. Information about auditions and other activities can also be found on the board outside my classroom.
On a personal note, I've been married to my husband for 25 years. He serves as an unpaid technical director for our productions and is a middle school special needs intervention specialist in another school district.
I'm the mother of a thirteen year old daughter who attends eighth grade in yet another school district. Coordinating three school calendars is a challenge but fits well within my ENFJ personality type. My daughter takes dance lessons and loves animals and reading.
My hobbies include reading, going out to eat, watching movies, dancing and writing. If you need a book recommendation, I'm your girl!
I am a Thespian Alum from Jackson High School in Jackson, Ohio.
