Bio

Timothy Mooney, author of the acting textbook, Acting at the Speed of Life; Conquering Theatrical Style, has given tens of thousands of students their first introduction to Molière through his first one-man show, Molière Than Thou. Tim is the former founder and editor of The Script Review and was the Artistic Director of Chicago's Stage Two Theatre, where he produced nearly fifty plays in five years. Tim threw himself into the writing part of his career with seventeen fun rhyming variations of the comedies of Molière, now produced around the world, most published by Playscripts and Stage Rights. High School productions of his adaptations have gone on to state finals in half a dozen states, while his Doctor in Spite of Himself, took third place in the Scottish Community Drama Association National finals. Tim’s latest adaptation, The Servant of Two Masters, was recommended for the Helen Hayes award competition. Mr. Mooney continues to present Molière across the US, along with other one-man plays, including the comic sci-fi thriller, Criteria, Lot o’ Shakespeare, Breakneck Julius Caesar, The Greatest Speech of All Time and Shakespeare’s Histories; Ten Epic Plays at a Breakneck Pace! Tim's newest play, Man Cave, a one-man sci-fi climate change tragicomedy just premiered at the Orlando Fringe Festival and will be presented in Los Angeles July, 2018. He brings these plays and a series of workshops to high schools and colleges throughout the United States through the course of the school year.
