This is a great idea. I've been looking for more formal ways to do this. I might take this idea and run with it. I also found a Socratic Seminar for a play on TPT that was very good but would be hard in beginning classes. This one works great on many levels. Thanks for sharing! ------------------------------ ...

I saw this thread and thought I'd be helpful. I've attached my cutting from 2 years ago for our 55 minute festival show. Feel free to go back and add or adjust as needed! ------------------------------ Joel King Woodstock GA ------------------------------

I generally take the material and insert it into a PPT or Nearpod. I think create my own assignment instructions documents to add or adjust as needed for my different grade levels and/or skill levels. ------------------------------ Joel King ------------------------------

The interview: Be yourself and share your specific view and what makes you and your classroom unique. I'm was a first time department chair last year and had to do interviews to replace a retiring teacher We had two candidates. One was nice, personable, and looked incredible on paper but didn't have ...

I would suggest $5. It's puny but that's what we are doing for our one act this year. I think more people will be willing to pay. You could also do a pay what you can with the minimum being $5. I've had success with that. I made a statement that all proceeds go directly toward our student production ...

I've always wanted to do a "Sleep No More"- style performance but that will be impossible until a vaccine happens. However, I've been brainstorming ways to do social media plays either via facebook or creating a production instagram that people could follow or view the story. The journey could be expanded ...

This one is tough for me as well. If we go back with face-to-face learning, I plan to require masks, gloves, and safety goggles at all times whether you're actively using the tools or not. You can have a 6' distance when possible but, if you need to get closer, you could add a face shield to what you ...

Teams is connected to Microsoft but it is an all-inclusive classroom experience. You can post assignments and grade them right there. You can do live video classes or pre-record and upload. You can also record meeting and post so if a students misses they can can catch up. You can drop files in one ...

You could always do a strong classical comedy or something inspired by. For example, Irwin and O'Donnell's "Scapin" is great ode to Moliere. There is a modern version of Tartuffe called "Tartuffe: Born Again" where Tartuffe is a televangelist. I did Tartuffe cut as a one-act and could've set it any ...

Leading Ladies by Ken Ludwig is the same premise. It switches the character situations a little (actors instead of musicians) but it's very funny and I enjoyed it when I did it in grad school. ------------------------------ Joel King Woodstock GA ------------------------------

I did it with a larger chorus of stones and it worked well. Big, Little, and Loud were the leaders. I also had one stone that played the violin so we had live accompaniment onstage. He was able to produce all the water sounds, the humming, etc. with the violin. It was amazing. ------------------------------ ...

Our county has assigned supplements for various "coaching" positions. However, I'm part of a team that is currently trying to increase our county drama stipends. Here's the best I can suggest based off my own experience. Administration (school and county) like number and hard facts. They like things ...
