These belt pack pouches on Etsy are great! They're super durable, washable, simple (though designed by a sound and costume tech), and inexpensive. https://www.etsy.com/listing/838175466/microphone-packbelt-pouch?click_key=cc5f702e025359407823709f4a3da68af0b6c2d4%3A838175466&click_sum=376d941c&ref=shop_home_active_14 ...

Try foambymail.com (Foam Factory) and look at the Minicel L200. It's slightly different from EVA in terms of how it shapes with heat when cut, but it works really well. This is cheap enough that you could order some for yourself to try before. ------------------------------ Patrick McGuire Drama ...

I know this has been a previous topic, but has anyone had any luck contacting Concord recently? I've trying to contact them for well over a month to process our cancellation, but to no avail. It works with the text to replace it with "hole". The only awkward moment would be "That had in it a crannied hole or chink" in which case, maybe change it to "That had in it a crannied notch or hole". Honestly, I read the article the OP referenced a while ago and "chink" threw me and would not have ...

Joseph Gels said everything I would. I would offer, however, this quote by Stella Adler: "The theatre is a spiritual and social X-ray of its time. The theatre was created to tell people the truth about life and the social situation."  ------------------------------ Patrick McGuire Drama Director ...

We are doing "Cabaret" this year, so we're working with Tams. So far (knock on wood) we've been okay. I received my contract rather quickly and submitted payment without issue. However, we don't begin rehearsals until late-January, so we'll see how things go as we get closer to the time when materials ...

Hi Aaron, We did the show prepublication, so I'm not sure what materials are included with the Playscripts materials now, but I can send you the scene breakdown I made as well as the breakdown by song according to the OCR that I was sent by the producers before we did the show. The only thing I don't ...

Honestly, I would just let them wear their glasses. As someone who is blind as a bat, I'd be extremely uncomfortable trying to perform without my glasses on. Unless their frames are chunky purple plastic, they shouldn't distract from the overall effect. In the future, though, sites like Firmoo and EyeBuyGlasses ...

I highly recommend the Actor's Cigarette. While it's similar to a vape pen, the contents are completely inert. I've used this several times; it looks great on stage and doesn't cause any issues with the actor. Because of the contents, you may be able to get around your state's laws--I equate it to a ...

I may or may not have been humming "Do You Hear the People Sing" while reading Elizabeth's post. :)  While we're on this bus, in my district, most of the head coaches in my district get $11,300 to coach their sport. For their season (with some conditioning duties during the rest of the year.) The ...

You're either being taken advantage of or this musician isn't quite up-to-speed on this kind of work. I have been a professional musician and have done tons of theatre gigs. Yes, there should have been a contract, but I would never have gone into a gig not knowing what I was getting paid. So, that ...

"Lastly, members of the public who have a deep-seated aversion to classical music may find themselves brutalized by repeated exposures to some of the most brilliant music ever composed."  That is, I think, one of the best disclaimers I've ever read. :)  On another note, when we did the Friedman ...

If I remember correctly, when we did "Charlotte's Web" years ago, we made all of the webs out of a heavy, textured yarn. I believe we had a student braid or finger sew the web to make it larger and easier to see. The webs were black and the words that Charlotte put into the web were made in a lighter ...

I saw that, too. I can only see this being a good thing as, in my experience, MTI has always been INFINITELY easier to work with. ------------------------------ Patrick McGuire Drama Director Round Lake High School Round Lake, IL ------------------------------
