While it seems like a vendetta, and a good way to get back at you in all likelyhood, they will have a lot of trouble starting their own company once they realize how difficult it is and how expensive!! They will have difficulty getting rights to the shows that they want to cast themsleves in, and will ...

While most of the male roles are tenor-ish...we found the ranges were not as extreme as stated in the vocal breakdown. It would be tricky plot wise to cast Hugo as a girl, as he ends up courting/marrying Winnie in the end. And the constable flirts and ends up with the mother.

C. J.-   I think I sent you a message, and would love to take a look at your adapatation.  Perhaps you sent it, and I may inadvertently deleted it if it went to my spam folder. I have been thinking about Spoon River as a great option for a devised  virtual piece,  though I may just use it as a launch ...

We use Vendini as well. My complaint which I did not fully realize, is that you do not get your ticket revnue until the close of the show. We have patrons who buy thir tix for our spring musical in Sept...we do not get our money until April!

I think we have all been in this position. A number of years ago, I invited any parent who wanted to be part of the casting process to attend. I let them them know they needed to be available for 2 days (3hours each) of the initial auditions. The call backs (4 hours) and then needed to remain after callbacks ...

I don't think so...as long as they are not lowered too much, I think they would maintain their integrity. we were fortunate not to have to lower any keys. Jesse, male lead probably has the highest range

Melinda-  We just closed TUCK  a few weeks ago.  It is a great high school show in my opinion. 2 good female roles, 2 supporting females,  and 6 pretty hefty male roles...tenorish most of them, but not extreme and some very character roles. The ensemble can be as big or small as you want...and could ...

We found dragon patterns- almost oragammi style on line and constructed 5 dragon heads out of heavy cardboard. Painted and detailed them. Mounted them on poles. So, essentially giant puppets. Very effective cohoreography. Worked great.

I too have been subjected to this sort of parental "bullying" and misperceptions of favoritism in casting. There is seldom an easy response or solution when a parent has decided that their child has been treated unfairly. To the statement of "not liking the student", again this all about perception. ...

I 2nd DOG SEES GOD.  I have not had success convincing my admin, though they were supportive and saw the potential in the play for awareness. But felt that many of our stakeholders (school board, parents, etc...) would not "hear" the value  due to the language and teenage situations.  I do read it in ...

We did the show a few years ago and set in the school library (all the philosophers books were on the shelves and then the students trashed the bookshelves during tower of babble). The students were in the library because of detention (metaphorical sinners/hell) John The Baptist was the drum major for ...

We have done FOOLS. we added Snetsky's sheep in as characters. They moved set pieces, and provided filler between scenes, watched over the proceedings ( they also functioned as the understudies.) ------------------------------ Scott Keys Sarasota FL
