It is Molière's 400th birthday this year and Kansas City's theatre community is encouraging our professional and educational institutions to produce Molière!
-Our fall play will be Molière's one act: "The Precious Young Ladies" followed up by a commissioned contemporary one act "The
Precious Woke Young Men." Playwright, Alli Jordan.
-
Mamma Mia for winter musical
-slated for spring play is
Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime.
* I would love to hear feedback from schools that have produced it recently. We would approach the beautiful story through research, utmost respect and looking to engage with a local organization that serves children on the autistic spectrum. Thoughts on casting a non neuro-divergent student actor in the neuro-divergent role of Christopher? Positive or negative. I believe the production could encourage deeper empathy and understanding for those living on the spectrum. But I am curious if academic productions have experienced other responses that should be equally considered. Thank you in advance, if you have insight to share!
