Female Musical Duet

I am trying to find a good duet for 2 of my girls. They are a Mezzo and a Soprano 1. I am looking for something that isn't overdone. No Jekyll and Hyde, Chicago, ect. Ideas?

Does 'Nothing Short of Wonderful' count as overdone? It's from Dogfight, not 100% if its in the ranges you're looking for (my wife would know better about ranges), but at least it's not Wicked/Hyde/etc. Good song, about a (possibly ugly) girl who's just been asked out to a party by a marine, unaware she is being asked because she's ugly so the marine can win a cash pot for bringing the ugliest date. The song is sweet and sad in its context, could be a nice challenge to pull off.

Side Show has several, although with the recent revival it may be done more now.

I was thinking Side Show also.  Also you could look at I Know Him So Well.  I had two seniors girls look at that piece a few years ago.

"Marry the Man Today" from Guys and Dolls; "A Boy Like That/I Have A Love" from West Side Story. There's also a good one from Footloose with Ariel and Ren's moms, but I don't remember the song title.

"I've Been Here Before" from "Closer Than Ever." It's my favorite duet I've ever done and I've never seen it done in Florida for competition.

Here are some duets that aren't done all that often:  "I Don't Know His Name" from She Loves Me, "Our Little World" from Into The Woods, "I Know Him So Well" from Chess, and "Every Day A Little Death" from A Little Night Music.

The music is not complicated, but i love "What you don't Know about Women" from City of Angels.  It allows for really fun staging, and is not on the "wildly overdone" list.
