Bio

Don Corathers joined the staff of Dramatics Magazine as an associate editor in 1979, and was named editor in 1986. Since then he has edited more than 240 issues of the magazine.

He was the founding editor of the quarterly journal Teaching Theatre in 1990, led the development of the Thespian Playworks program in 1994, and launched the magazine's college theatre and summer theatre directories.

His articles and photographs have appeared in The New York Times, American Theatre, many newspapers, and other publications. A native of West Virginia, he is the author of Perceptions of Home, part of a multimedia project on the Appalachian migration. He also served as music director for Cincinnati's Appalachian Festival for five years and producer of Aunt Maudie's Back, a reunion concert series and live CD featuring bands from a legendary Cincinnati bluegrass bar.

He lives in Cincinnati's Kennedy Heights neighborhood with his wife of more than forty years, Robin. They have two daughters and three grandchildren.
