  • 1.  How to get Newspapers for Newsies

    I need help! I am hoping to print my own newspapers for Newsies to save money but am unsure how to do this. Anyone who has done newsies have any insight? Either how to print my own (on newsprint I'm guessing?) or where you ordered/bought newspapers for your show. I need advice and soon!

    I printed our newspapers on 11x17 papers and ordered a heather gray print paper. We collected documents from the local newspaper and built bundles using those (we bulked them up by taking old COVID signs and covering those thicker options with newspapers.  Then, for the paper we held up , we built a newspaper on Canva, then printed it at school

    Hi Lisa,

    We are currently doing Newsies as well and are using this site to get our newspapers.  https://www.proppapers.com/. We've worked with this company before for other shows and have been very pleased. It may be a bit more than if you printed yourself but for us it is worth the little extra cost over the time and resources it would take to figure our how to create our own authentic looking newspapers.
