For those who have done Newsies recently: how many newspapers did you order for your shows and rehearsals? Don't want to over or under order. Thanks for any advice!

    Hi,

Newsies newspapers… I had about 4 stacks and each was about 3 feet high…

I used a lot of it as set dressing. I’d say for hand props for the show you’ll need about 20-30 newspapers (depending on cast size).

Hi! We open next week, how did you make the stacks? We open next week!  We had papers made, but are stuck with the stacks.

    Hi!

I just finished this show in the fall!  We had a small bundle tied for each newsie.  We made 3' stacks with styrofoam that students could sit on or stand on. I have some extra large print of the "newspaper" that you attach to the styrofoam.  We have extra "paper" to cover the styrofoam, and I could easily cut you a good deal.  Our students only held up the newspaper paper with the Once and For song where the headline mattered. I stressed a lot about these papers but ended up having students create them in Canva to look old - created the title, an article, etc., and unless you were on the front two rows, you couldn't see the titles anyway. I printed them on 11x17 paper at school - saved hundreds of dollars. I also have a fantastic printing press that works. . .  if you know anyone looking for one. I can't bear to throw it out. I hope this helps
