  • 1.  Drama for cast of 10

    Hello Everyone, 

    I am perusing for next year with a focus on our first production being a drama for the advanced production class.  I essentially have 7 females and 3 males to work with.  I could potentially cast a couple of incoming sophomores in smaller roles as well.  I'd like to do a murder mystery or something similar but really open to just about anything.

    The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 by John Bishop is a lot of fun.

    Night Watch by Louise Fletcher is more dramatic but clever.

    I second Musical Comedy Murders... a great show!

    Here are some other fun shows we had great success with:

    • Death and Deceit on the Nile by Peter DiPietro
    • Noir Suspicions by David Landau
    • Murderous Crossing by David Landau
    • The 39 Steps by Patrick Barlow (this one is meant to be performed by 4 actors but can be expanded)

    Play On! by Rick Abbot has 7F, 3M.  We did it in a rebuilding year when I could do a play with a small cast, and the students had great fun with it.  Samuel French, now Concord, has the rights.

    Two of our most popular plays are the old standbys Arsenic and Old Lace and And Then There Were None. Frankly, I was stunned by how much our teenage audience liked those shows.
