Bio

After a career in the entertainment business in Los Angeles, CA for 15 years where he worked as an actor, writer, producer, stand-up comic, and behind the scenes jobs such as a producer/director assistant and agent assistant, Stephen Ingle came back to his roots in the Southeast. Stephen grew up in Columbia, South Carolina where he first fell in love with acting and the theatre doing community theatre and being deeply involved in his high school theatre program. He went on to get his B.A. in Theatre Arts from Birmingham-Southern College and after returning from L.A. received his Masters Degree in Teaching Theatre Education. While in Los Angeles, Stephen produced and starred in the independent film Fish in a Barrel which co-starred Jeremy Renner. Stephen has also taught during the summer for three years at the North Carolina Governor’s School in Winston-Salem and has most recently directed the one act play Waiting for Lefty, Steel Magnolias, and Hairspray. Stephen has most recently performed in The Diary of Anne Frank and Moonlight and Magnolias. Stephen recently married his wife Vivia in 2016 and immediately moved to Athens, GA to begin his teaching career at Jefferson High School. Stephen credits his passion for teaching to his parents, Ron & Judy Ingle, who were both educators his whole life. Stephen’s dad, Ron, was the president of Coastal Carolina University for fifteen years and his mom, Judy, was an English teacher, principal, and curriculum specialist. They have both inspired him to be the best educator he can be.
