Dr. Jay Seller is the vice president for the Educational Theatre Association and the former Chapter Director for the Colorado State Thespians. He is a high school theatre teacher and fine arts coordinator for Adams Twelve school district. Jay has served for thirty years in different capacities, endeavoring to address the needs of the educational theatre community in Colorado and across the nation.
Dr. Seller completed his doctorate in organizational leadership with a special emphasis in at-risk LGBT youth. Jay gives back to the greater arts and LGBT community through his service on the executive boards for; Arts for Colorado and The Center. As Colorado state captain for Americans for the Arts, Jay lobbies for the greater Denver arts community hoping to make transformational changes in both funding and legislation. As a NMI (New Millennium Initiative) instructor he collaborates with new teachers on best practices for instruction inside the classroom and outside the profession. Jay’s name appears on several academic theatre textbooks for use in the classroom and he maintains several web sites as teacher resources.
This is Dr. Seller’s thirty-second year of teaching high school and he is excited to bringing some of his talents and outside perspectives to EdTA.
