Bio

Vic Pilolla is currently the Theatrical Productions Manager, Technical Director, and Auditoriums Manager at Leyden High Schools in Franklin Park & Northlake, IL, where he started in 1984. He is the Executive Director of the 2020 Illinois High School Theatre Festival, the oldest and largest non-competitive theatre festival in the nation, and has served on the Executive Committee for the IHSTF eight times. At Leyden he co-founded Teatro Leyden, a National award winning bilingual approach to high school theatre that performs the same plays in both Spanish and English. Teatro Leyden performed the first Spanish high school productions of “House on Mango Street”, and “Historia de Una Escalera” and will present the world premiere of “Wave” in May 2020, a work that Teatro Leyden commissioned. He has been on the production staff of three IHSTF All State productions and is also a freelance set and lighting designer/technical director having worked at Concordia University-Chicago, Concordia University-Wisconsin, Dominican University, Trinity High School and Acacia Theatre in Milwaukee. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Theatre Association, United States Institute for Theatre Technology-Midwest Section and is the Financial Director / Treasurer for Illinois State Thespians.
