Angela Watkins is the theatre arts teacher at the Telluride Public Schools. She has taught a variety of theatre classes and has directed plays at the school for the past 15 years. Angela developed the Telluride Elementary Shakespeare Project in 1998. This collaboration with the fifth grade class, faculty and parents, integrates theatre into the student’s curriculum and culminates in a presentation of a Shakespeare play. She co-founded the Telluride Repertory Theatre Company in 1989 and was the Associate Producing Director of the company for 13 years. Angela performed in more than thirty productions. She was one of the creators of the Rep’s ACTions Tour, which performs to students throughout the four corners area and was a member of the tour for many years. Angela also produced and acted in the Rep’s production of Nosferatu that was performed in New York City and was part of the Prithvi International Theatre Festival in India.
