Bio

Dylan Russell is a professional stage director, playwright, actor and educator. She is Chair of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Jewish Community High School of the Bay where she serves as head of the Drama Department. Her drama program at JCHS has twice been awarded the honor of participating in the American High School Theatre Festival  at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. At JCHS, she directs and produces three full productions as well and teaches Acting I & II and Playwriting/Screenwriting. She has taught at California Shakespeare Festival, Actors Lab AZ, Northwestern University's National High School Institute, Marin Theatre Company and New Conservatory Theatre Center. Dylan has directed productions for the American Conservatory Theatre MFA Conservatory, TheatreFirst, California Conservatory Theatre, Alchemy Works, New Conservatory Theatre Educational Programs, Cassandra’s Call, and Actors Lab Arizona. She served as Assistant Director on productions with American Conservatory Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and the Eureka Theatre Company. Favorite productions include – Future Me (TheatreFIRST), Cassandra (A.C.T. Conservatory), Persistent Vegetative State (Dog² Productions), Speed-the-Play (BRT), as well as adapting & directing two of Roald Dahl’s works, A Lashing of Malice…(Alchemy Works at JMCA) and the North American Premiere of Dahl’s hit children’s book, Matilda (NCTC). Currently, she is Artistic Director & Co-Founder of Dog² Productions. She has completed graduate coursework in Playwriting at SUNY Stonybrook Southampton, studied at Vassar College & A.C.T. and is a graduate of the University of Washington. She is a proud member of AEA, SDC, TCG and TYA/ASSITEJ.
