Bio

Rich Orloff’s plays range widely in style.   His newest work, BLESSINGS FROM THE PANDEMIC (published and licensed by TRW), a mosaic of reflections in response to the pandemic, has been performed by theaters, high schools, a library, two synagogues and a church.  Playscripts licenses his play VIETNAM 101: THE WAR ON CAMPUS, based on letters and interviews with students who attended college during the Vietnam era, which has had over 50 productions at theaters and schools around the country.  

 

Rich’s 80 short plays have had over 2000 productions on six continents – and a staged reading on Antarctica.  His short comedies have been included seven times in the annual "Best American Short Plays" anthology series  (more than any other contemporary playwright) and five times in the annual "Best Ten-Minute Play" anthology.   Playscripts licenses several of his collections of short comedies that have been popular in high schools, including NOTHING SERIOUS, HA! (including his one-act comedy THE WHOLE SHEBANG), FUNNY AS A CRUTCH (short comedies exploring the theme of disability, and ROMANTIC FOOLS
