A native of Des Moines, IA I grew up surrounded by the arts. My parents met in their college band and music was always playing in our house. I am the youngest of three with an older sister who is a song writer and music therapist and a brother with disabilities that taught me what it means to have true joy.
I have always been encouraged to explore and experience my interests and became extremely involved in my high school band, choir, theatre and soccer programs. I was inspired by my high school drama teacher to go into teaching and haven't looked back since.
I have been working for Omaha Public Schools since I starting teaching in 2004 and I love the diverse population of students I am blessed to work with each and every day. I am lucky enough to have found my dream job of inspiring high school theatre artists to become more confident and socially aware individuals regardless if they continue theatre after high school.
Teaching philosophy: To encourage and support the development of tolerant, productive, and creative individuals and help students develop a sense of work in order to function successfully as individuals and in group interactions.
