I have presented workshops for EDTA at the 2013 Conference in Minneapolis and the 2014 & 2015 International Festival. I've also been a featured guest artist for the 2013 Texas State Festival (keynote speaker), 2014 Nevada State Festival, 2015 Oregon State Festival and 2016 Georgia State Thespian Festival.
I teach acting (cold reading/audition technique), musical theatre (acting in your song), dance, a yoga based warm-up workshop as well as a yoga class designed to help the creative artist. With over 15 years of experience as a professional actor in regional theatre, national tours and Broadway, I have a range of information to share with students and teachers alike about surviving the business of theatre. In the spring of 2015 I completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training program through CorePower Yoga and am now a Yoga Alliance RYT 200 certified yoga teacher.
I grew up in Annapolis, Maryland. I come from a family of music lovers, so I played the violin, sang in the choir and performed in community theatre from an early age. I will always be grateful to the public schools of Anne Arundel County for having such a strong dedication to the arts. I will be forever grateful to my high school drama/music teacher at Broadneck High School, Jane Daugherty, for her guidance and leadership. After graduating from Carnegie, I spent 12 years based out of NY, working all over the US. My wife and I are now based out of Chicago, where I work as an actor, teacher, producer and yoga teacher.
