Bio

Russ Saxton recently retired after 35 years as a Theatre Teacher from Dixie High School in Saint George, Utah.   He graduated from BYU in 1982 with a Bachelor's degree in English and Theatre Education.  He received a BA in Technical Theatre. He received a Masters of Education from Southern Utah University (1998).  He’s directed, designed and built over 120+ shows. Russ is a recipient of the Huntsman Award for Excellence in Education (2003), Utah Theatre Association, High School Theatre Educator of the Year (2011) and Master Teacher Award from UACTT in 2017.   In the fall of 2016 he began the second act of his career at Dixie State University, teaching Theatre Methods to students preparing for careers as theatre educators.  He serves on the UACTT Board, Utah Theatre Association Board the EdTA Collegiate Advisory Committee.
