This is not one of the major brands, but we have had good luck with these.  Easy to use and great throw. They are a local company to us in Cincinnati with great customer service.   http://freqcitysound.com/fcs17rfollowspot.html ------------------------------ Mike Morris Harrison OH -------- ...

We do not allow food on stage or in the house. As for cell phones, we have one of those plastic shoe hangers that you hang on the back of a door. It has 25 or so pouches in it. Each pouch is labeled with a student's last name. At the beginning of rehearsal each student puts their phone in their respective ...

We are looking to do the RnH version of A Christmas Carol this fall. We usually license our pre-recorded music from The MT Pit, however they are telling me that they only have the music for the MTI version. Does anyone know where we can get music tracks for the RnH version? Also, does anyone ...

The two are not related. OrchExtra is the MTI product. The MT Pit (no "i") is not affiliated with MTI. ------------------------------ Mike Morris Harrison OH ------------------------------

Echoing what others have said... 1. Expensive = VERY 2. Worth it = Yes. (Of course, my first choice will always be a live pit). Excellent music, excellent sound quality. One way to save money = You can put their app on your iPad, etc. and play your performance tracks through that, thereby ...

This is an easy one, and is never open for discussion in our district... we are a school first. Bottom line. No other arguments about the lack of understudies, only 3 nights out of the year, etc. would even be considered. This is administrative policy and I agree 100%. What I tell my kids: "Welcome to ...

We do our programs as 8.5"x11" magazines, with the front cover inside and out as full color glossy card stock type paper, and the insides as BW printing press run sheets. I create the pages in Microsoft Publisher, and then use a local printing company to print them. Cover pages (full color, 8.5x11) ...

Definitely the "one man's trash is another man's treasure" philosophy applies here. As others have stated, middle schools would probably love to get their hands on this type of equipment, and in addition, some high schools may find it useful if they lack the budget for up-to-date equipment, or if they ...

You say that your school understands the importance of theatre, so is the issue that the school is unable to hire more theatre staff because of budget constraints, or unwilling to hire more because they feel that they are unneeded? (Possibly the ultimate back-handed compliment... they think you are doing ...

We have many props from our production of Beauty and the Beast last year that we would like to sell, since our storage space is limited. We bought these from Mother of Mercy last year and all worked very well for us. Here's the docket: - Carrots and Tomatoes (3 of each) - Lumiere's Candle Arms ...

Check out B&H Photo Video as well (bhphotovideo.com). $5.95 for spike, $17.95 for 2" gaff, free shipping over $49. I also teach a TV Production course, so B&H is my toy store. I wish I lived closer to NYC (or maybe it's better that I don't!) :-) ------------------------------------------- Mike ...

Our Tech Crew always comes out for curtain call, minus the ones in the booth. The cast comes out first, takes one bow together, then parts in the middle and the tech crew comes out and takes one bow, then the whole company lines up and bows together. ------------------------------------------- ...

We have used The MT Pit for the last few years. Pros and cons: PROS -I have been impressed with the quality of their tracks. -They will send rehearsal CDs ahead of time (which have the watermark "rehearsal tracks" spoken every few seconds). Then they will rent you an SD card player a couple ...

Alan, I would check and see how your school website is hosted. Like Anne-Marie said below, our district also allows each teacher / sport / club to have their own website hosted within the school's website. Our district's websites are hosted by a company called Edlio. They allow re-directs to be created ...

I feel very fortunate that we have a 4-person directing team who truly does work as a team. We have a stage director, vocal director, choreographer, and technical director (me). In the hierarchy on paper the stage director would be the head coach; however we have never run our program like that. The ...

We do 7:00 for evening performances, 2:00 for Sunday matinees. Personally, I would not start an evening performance any earlier than 7:00, particularly a weeknight show, unless dinner was being offered. We are located about 30 minutes west of Cincinnati (45 minutes during rush hour), and have found that ...

We are facing the possibility of having our Booster group dissolve next year. This year we are down an officer, so 3 people are doing the work of 4. 2 of those 3 are graduating their last child this year and will be leaving the organization. Few people other than the officers actually show up to the ...
