We weave it through the hair and if we cannot do that then we use clear medical tape that you can purchase cheap at Walgreens or the like. ------------------------------ Ryan Landmann Palm Desert CA ------------------------------

Look into "The Mouse that Roared"  there is a mad scientist role along with other witty characters.  It's a large cast comedy. ------------------------------ Ryan Landmann Palm Desert CA ------------------------------

Does anyone use projectors for set projection or special effects during shows?  I am interested in beginning this for of technology, but I have very little knowledge in this area.  What brands are good?  How many lumens should I be looking at?  Are there challenges I should be aware of when I am looking ...

We just did Romeo and Juliet in the Fall. The script was not difficult for students at all and many of them really enjoyed performing in it. The hardest part about R+J is the fight choreography. I would suggest hiring a fight choreographer if at all possible. I hired a fencing coach and that was a tremendous ...

Urinetown is a fantastic show! I just did it in the spring and received a great audience and great response from my administration. The show is so fun to do and really not anything to be worried about, as far as appropriateness goes. As far as the name goes, they make fun of it also in the play ...

We have the same, two ETC Ion boards, one in the Black Box and one in the Main Stage. It's a great board with lots of support when/if needed. ------------------------------ Ryan Landmann Palm Desert CA

Yes I produced Bat Boy a few years ago. It's a fantastic show that really discusses many social issues. You will need to be very careful if you are in an area that is very conservative, they may find this show offensive. Things to watch for (that I can recall), The animal orgy scene (cut this scene!), ...

I don't always double cast, only when I feel like I have two actors that are the best for the role. We do a four show run, so the double cast actors split the run. The actors honestly do not mind and it's not that difficult. Some directors here are saying it takes longer, and it may, depends on how your ...

I did this show in our Black Box last fall. My admin loved the show, I did however tweak some of the language to make it a little more high school friendly. It was a fun show to produce and for the most part the students enjoyed it as well. ------------------------------ Ryan Landmann Palm Desert ...

I use Norcostco, they are super easy to deal with and very knowledgeable about the shows. Their costumes have always been great and they fit the cast well! They ship them when they say they will and they give you free shipping on the way to you. Also you don't pay until after the show is done, so you ...

I just purchased about 150 chairs for my Black Box from Wenger. I would recommend going with them or at least checking them out. They make all kinds of quality chairs for various performing arts spaces. ------------------------------ Ryan Landmann Palm Desert CA --------------------------- ...

I use the Audio Technica mics for actors. They are pretty good quality and one of the cheapest out there. You can adjust channel settings, and the sound board op can watch battery levels so it can be adjusted before the actor steps out on stage, to name a few things it does. The mics come in boom or ...

We charge about the same as everyone else it seems. I used to print out the larger 11x17, although they looked great, I was losing a ton of money on it. I switch to a standard playbill size and it cut the cost virtually in half. Our programs and publicity are all produced by our graphic arts program ...

We can provide PE credit for musicals. But we only allow it if the students actually need the PE credits and I sign off on them. Depending on my cast size as well, we have done the musical as a Production class as well, which gives students elective credits. ------------------------------------------- ...
