Ray Bradbury's Kaleidoscope immediately comes to mind. It begins on a space ship and an explosion happens sending the astronauts hurtling into space. It's a one act and there's no happy ending, but as I recall ( having directed it my first year teaching- a LONG time ago) would adapt well to Zoom and ...

Thanks for this post, David. It involves one of my pet peeves. Thespian should be pronounced with a p, as written.

I enjoyed doing Rehearsal for Murder with my students. It can be done with a full set or set pieces, if you wish. I believe Dramatic Publishing carries it. Best wishes! Stay safe and healthy everyone!Marti Fowler

Thank you so much for sharing your plans. I hope part of those plans includes keeping involved, or at least in touch, with EdTA. One way to do that is to join us in the new Emeritus Community. It's free to use, and anyone who has retired from teaching theatre is invited. There's also a special EdTA emeritus ...

Great to hear from you, Doug! You don't sound retired, but who am I to talk. I taught methods at Fontbonne University for 10 years and did the business thing for 15. Luckily, Missouri lets you retire before you need a walker. I'm happy that you are thriving in "retirement". Best wishes!Marti

Terrific, Dana!Bob and I have a record of working after retiring, too. Now that the business is closed, Bob continues to work with his band (all three permutations) and I spend my time running after him and volunteering for EDTA. Best wishes and it's great to hear from you!Marti

Terrific, Dana! Bob and I have a record of continuing to work after we retired, too. Now that the business is closed, Bob is busy with his band (actually 3 permutations of the same band) and I'm busy trying to keep up with him and EDTA volunteering. Best wishes and it's great to hear from you. Marti

Hi, everyone, Marti Fowler here. If I may reply as a former Fine Arts Department Chair and Fine Arts Co-ordinator, when I observed teachers, I was looking for a continuation of the unit being taught. No need for a dog and pony show. Your objectives and the alignments to the National/State standards should ...
