I've also wanted to do this but have very limited wall in the black box classroom. We had to make "Thinkers" posters in each department showing how students should draw inferences, ask questions, visualize in English, Math, Science etc. I attached the one I made for Theatre. I started with the National ...

When I did Almost, Maine at my last school (student population of 1100) instead of monologues for general auditions, they had to audition with a partner with a selection from the play. I stated that two girls could be partners and then switch roles in the audition but most recruited guys to audition. ...

We just did the show and the first hit was real to the back of the head. Marvalyn was putting the ironing board away and was holding it vertical and threw the board up a little "lost control" but still had control from the bottom to bring it on the back of his head in a controlled way. The second ...

I was wondering what others do when working with large musical ensembles when learning choreography. It always happens that they become talkative if their dance group is not being taught something or the time getting focused before a number takes longer to focus. I try to help the choreographer by managing ...

I agree, a little PR can help your program. I've begun taking one photo from each show since the school opened in 1972. The plan is having them displayed along the theatre lobby as a history of the program. I've only been here two years so it's a big project but also very interesting to see what was ...

Currently we are producing Front through Samuel French. It is a WWII drama set in London about the women who are still in the city during the bombings. I was fortunate enough to cast all 35 students who auditioned and the best part is that the script allows each actor cast to have a character/scene/monologue ...

It's been awhile since I've read The Illusion. As long as the twist works at the end it might be okay. I know it cuts down on the female parts, but if I remember the son had the same woman playing his female counterparts in all three plays. If she is in all three that might work. That might help with ...
