They have to include a commercial and a PSA as well. They love these especially! We record them in class, with sound ...

I am really shocked to read things like "only actors with lines come to the table read." It's a lot like saying "leads"....it's just not done in the theatre program I run. Theatre is a process and requires participation and love from everyone to make it work. All people involved in the process must understand ...

There is always a reason for kids to act out. If you get to the bottom of that by asking the right questions and listening, you are on your way to understanding why there is difficult behavior. Once that is established, you can proceed with some remedies. ------------------------------ Angela Hillman ...

Hi~ I have flown twice with ZFX and last year our district said no to them for whatever reason. I went with Vertigo for flying instead. Their insurance rider is worded differently and worked for my district. They were amazing to work with and I highly recommend them. Happy Flying! ~Angie :) -- ...

I triple love using tracks! I began using them because our show was during band season, so we couldn't use a live pit. Now...I just love the precision. Some shows have tracks already ready to rent and for those who do not...I have had a lot of success with MT Pit. -- Ms. HillmanDirector of the ...

Hi~You do not owe anyone an explanation for your casting. It sounds as if you are completely covered with rubrics...so there is documentation. Just stand with your decision and know that you are ultimately teaching the kids that the person who is best for the role is the one cast.Parents and students ...

If it's just a bench, I recommend loaning it on good faith, no charge. It's nice to loan smaller props and things in your theatre community to build relationships. You never know when you will need something and that favor is returned! ~Angie

I've been directing/teaching for 25 years and I have the exact opposite philosophy. My cast/crew sign contracts stating that they will focus on grades and attendance as well as be a responsible member of the show. They must be able to balance it all because it all is important and it is excellent training ...
