Hi! We actually just built three of these for Seussical using 2" Extruded Foam Insulation (the the lightweight hard stuff that's usually pink or blue that you can buy in 4x8 sheets from Home Depot). You can layer them attaching them with green glue until they are the height you want and then jigsaw to ...

Chicago. We just did this and it turned out splendidly! We set and costumed it in the original time period to avoid the corsets and fishnets thing - I can send along photos if you're curious. Our cast was large so we have lots of beautiful costumes and such. :) Huge pit, lots of girls, really only need ...

For the Fall Musical we do an 8-week rehearsal period before Production Week which usually works out to around 22 rehearsals. For the Winter Play we also do 8 weeks, but only around 16 rehearsals.

Oh, Peter can definitely be done with 40! If you'd like, feel free to message when you get closer to your show I'd be super happy to let you know how we managed and some of the hurdles we hit so that you won't have to!

Peter is actually a PERFECT show to expand! I directed it last year with a cast of 50 and a friend of mine just did it at her high school with 22 - all you need to do there is break of the "Narrator" Characters (Narrator Molly, Narrator Boy, etc). We had them dress in echoes of what the actual character ...

Peter and the Starcatcher has quite a bit of music. Master Class, but that's for a really accomplished soprano.

I definitely second SUNY Purchase - all of their technical theater programs are amazing! My two students who are there love it!! Also look at Oklahoma University for stage management and UNC school of arts for sound design.

It kind of depends on what you have for male talent. We are doing Chicago right now as I have phenomenal female talent and only 2 really strong males, with a lot of non-singing males. I also just did Legally this summer (with a different group) and while it does have great female roles, it really does ...

Hello! I have been running in to a wall trying to find bentwood cabaret chairs. Has anyone used these before and might have any advice on places that lend/rent/sell them? I need to find about 30. Color is not as important as style and of course I'm working within a budget. I'm in Massachusetts, for reference. ...

It's a HUGE (and long) show - I would think it would be really challenging for a high school unless you have a really strong technical theater program to build the huge sets and period costumes. It's also really demanding for the leading female- The original Grace was Stephanie J Block and I think she ...

Hi there! If your two leads are very strong singer/actors then Parade (JRB) is a beautiful, challenging, super rewarding piece. Leo Frank is Bass/Baritone and while Lucille is technically mezzo, the top note is D#/Eflat and it's all mix/belt so I'm sure your alto would be fine. The subject matter is ...

We just did Little Shop at my school this past Fall with a cast of about 50 and it worked out SO well. There were bums, a gang, secretaries in the wrong part of town, streetwalkers and a flasher in Skid Row, we brought the Da Doo scene to life with the same characters (which worked awesome given the ...

Hi there. I have had great results using the play Love Letters for student monologues. The writing and emotional tone are simple and accessible for students and because the actors are reading letters to each other there are a ton of choices. More than that, though, because the play spans the lives of ...
