We also use Vendini/AudienceView. They are promoting a new professional service which includes a monthly service fee. I have responded to their offers with a request to get our monies before we consider their new product. I have loved using Vendini. It has been a great product. We just want to ...

Has your school had difficulty collecting monies from your online ticketing company? We're finding it challenging to reach customer support at the company we use for our shows, as they are not answering their phones. We're still waiting on thousands of dollars in ticket sales for a show that closed ...

There are lots of lines in A Midsummer Night's Dream that could be upsetting to an audience. But I have directed it four times and never had a complaint. The high school students love all the double meanings. I think it is fun for them to be able to laugh about sex. The first time I directed A ...

Do you think the pandemic will bring a permanent change to the way video, and now live-streams, are handled by publishing companies? I've only recorded our plays or musicals when wording in our contracts allowed it. My understanding is that even archival copies have not been legal, unless you had written ...

Thank you for sharing, Mark. These recommendations are overwhelming to consider implementing at my school. How do we plan for this kind of season? A lot of these decisions will come down to our local school districts. It is hard to imagine what educational theatre will look like in the fall. That ...

I agree, Tony. Even if you look at the origin of the work in Greek or Latin, I don't think the B sound is justified. In English, P is a voiceless sound and B is a voiced sound. They are close, but different. Would you correct someone if you heard it pronounced with a B? ------------------------------ ...

Does anyone have suggestions for a Foley artist that you have worked with on a show? I need to hire someone that can help me figure out how to make a variety of sounds fx onstage by students for a new play. I'm also interested in resources (books or videos) that you have used in the classroom to ...

Nail polish is a brilliant idea!! We used gel. It was difficult to tape it on the lights in such a way that the glasses could fold up, and do that the light underneath didn't show through. Great idea!!! David Tate HastingsOlathe South High SchoolTheatre Educator

How do you inspire students to strive for excellence? What do you do when the majority of your class or cast is starting at a low level? How do you convince a group of students that start at an "aspiring to standard" level to believe they can be "at standard" or even perform "above standard?" How ...

I'm comfortable helping students and parents deal with rejection. There have been lots of posts about these situations. I've been doing this for 20 years. I'm use to it. However, I don't think we often discuss how it makes us feel. I'm just curious how you cope with being the person that causes this ...

I think each troupe is different. There isn't one way to run a program. There are great Thespian troupes throughout Kansas City, and each program looks different.
