Hi, we require a grade check and signed contract (signed by student & parent/guardian) at the time of audition. That way, if their grades aren't up to par, they aren't cast in the show. Hope this helps for next year, Juliette ------------------------------ Juliette Beck Head of Theatre, Teacher, ...

We included dramaturgy in our preparation and even took a field trip to The National Atomic Museum to look ...

I suggest warm water with baby shampoo, squeeze a lot and rinse a lot under warm to hot h2o. Let them air dry on a paper towel. If they are really gunky, you can try Dawn liquid dish soap or Cinema Secrets brush cleaner from Sephora. ------------------------------ Juliette Beck Head of Theatre, Teacher, ...

Hi Bruce, I'm sorry to hear your year ended on a negative note. My advice is to just wish this student well and brush the metaphorical dirt of your shoulders. Who knows, in 8 more years, he may recall how professional and fair you were. Keep your chin up and remember all the wonderful, positive students ...

A student decorated the cans with paper & fabric to match the gang colors (purple for Dandy Dan's Hoods & green for Fat Sam's gang.) We also had a student make fake ...

I will join in and add that I know how challenging it can be to take over after another teacher and build or re-build a program. One idea that may support you & your students is to bring the community in to your classroom. We partner with a local community theatre company to work on playwriting and we ...

I loved directing Shuddersome: Tales of Poe by Lindsay Price (Theatrefolk) and my MS students still talk about what a positive experience it was for them. We just closed Orphan Trains by Deborah Price (Playscripts) and it was incredibly moving, powerful and well received. My MS students loved the historical ...

The play Paper or Plastic? (Dramatic Publishing) might work for you. It's a fun one act, and you can add extra shoppers and cart wranglers. An fun idea would be to have your audience bring a can of food (to donate to a local food bank), and stock the shelves of your set during the run of the show. ...
