Hello all, I teach/direct mostly high school and some middle school. I have a good background in design but am largely self-educated in acting theory through my own acting work. So I'm looking for good online acting classes for teachers/adults that would help me continue to grow. Asynchronous ...

Hello all, I may have the option of doing a distanced and masked show outside this Spring. Probably 8-20 cast members. Might be on a grassy area, might be on an outdoor plaza/patio. There are various options. Maybe even a musical (although that raises the level of difficulty considerably). ...

By your own statement, Shakespeare changed the story "to fit his modern times". What Cora is suggesting is just that. Yes, a chink is a hole. But it is also now a racist term. If hearing that term takes an audience member out of the moment that I'm trying to create onstage, then that is bad for ...

You can organize with Powerpoint. Take a picture of each item and make a slide with a description (color, description, era, etc) so that you can search it by keyword. If you keep your file on Google drive, it would be accessible from home. ------------------------------ Christopher Sheldon Performing ...

Hello all, This question was asked (and got some answers) about a month ago, but I thought it was worth posting again in case new things have been created. Does anybody know of good remote PD opportunities that are happening this summer? Lots to learn about how we are going to do this in the ...

Hello all, Just wanted to throw a question out there to the collective wisdom of the group. I am just starting to think about my season for next year. Many of my kids would like to do Little Shop of Horrors which would fit us pretty well and which has a whole lot of positives. But I am finding ...

Wow. Sorry you have to deal with this. Keep in mind though, as Nathan said above, given who we've seen in these forums over the years, you don't need to send the principal's letter to MTI because they very likely have already seen it since you posted it. I would distance myself from the decision/show ...

I hope so too. We've made several phone calls and have run into brick walls. Friendly brick walls but they weren't able to tell us anything. Not faulting the folks on the other end of the phone. They must have a rough job right now. Hopefully they will work out the kinks and my stuff will arrive ...

An update (and wanting to be fair). We got an email with digital resources for auditions today along with some tracks. The email also said that our scripts/scores are in the mail and will arrive on the 15th. And the rehearsal performance tracks should be emailed to us in the next few days. Fingers ...

Hello all, I know this has been a subject of discussion already but let me reiterate any warnings you may have heard about working with Concord Theatricals right now (what was Samuel French, R&H and Tams). For various reasons we announced a musical last year but had to change it to Chicago (High ...

Anybody else having trouble getting perusal scripts from TAMS at the moment? In the last two weeks, I have filled out their online form twice and talked to an actual person in their office twice in the hopes of getting a couple of e-perusal scripts. Nothing has been forthcoming. They say they are ...

Hello all, I was hoping I could draw from the wisdom of the group in helping me choose a musical. I'm having a lot of trouble finding the right show this year. I teach at a small independent school in MA so we have a lot of freedom to do just about any show we want in terms of subject matter. We did ...

Look at Cabaret. I am in the middle of it right now and it is heavily dependent on the women. The male lead, Cliff, hardly has to sing at all (but he needs to be a strong actor). The Emcee certainly sings but you could do it with the right woman. The only man who has to really sing is Schultz ...
