Hello, I'm doing some research on types of shows for our school theatre program. Currently we do a small musical in the fall or spring, a large winter musical, a one act as part of the forensics competition, and a play in the fall or spring. In the past there was only one musical; there was a play ...

Hello, A significant component to and Acting class I teach is improvisation. We do warmup activities, short scene work, and eventually some long-form improv. As I am working on an SLO right now (I want to focus on helping students make "big choices" and eventually develop scenes) I have struggled ...

I'm looking at this show right now, but like the original post, would like it to be a larger cast. Did you end up doing the show with expanded casting? Alan, you mentioned you had some ideas for other shows with similar comedy. I would love some ideas! I need to do a comedy this year but am feeling uninspired! ...

Does anyone have any paper methods of tracking points? (the kids like to look back at the cards and prefer it to digital.) ...

Hello, I am in charge of scheduling our auditorium. We do three high school theatre productions (a play, musical, and a spring play or musical) and I am curious what the typical amount of time needed for rehearsals is. 8 weeks seems to be the standard. How many weeks do you spend on your productions? ...

The auditorium I run needs new lights in the rigging area and a suggestion was to use LED blue lights (to avoid having to gel them during a show). However, I heard that red lights are better than blue. My question is: what color do you gel the lights (at the rails and general backstage lights) during ...
