A workshop for parents and teachers on how to create a booster club would be great. Sarah Jane Arnegger's marketing workshop has totally changed our social media game for our program. A few years ago I went to one on the differences between BA, BFA, conservatory, and other types of post-secondary programs--that ...

Hello friends! My musical director and I are contemplating doing a cabaret-style performance of B'way tunes this coming fall as a fundraiser. What are the rules/expectations regarding rights for music for this type of event? Any help/guidance/direction from those who've done this type of thing before ...

Hi everyone! We are undertaking the daunting task of organizing our prop storage this summer. (God help us.) Anyone have any clever organizational hacks, suggestions, or solutions they'd be willing to share? We'd love any ideas you'd be willing to pass on. Thanks! :) ------------------------------ ...

Hi Julie-- There are a lot of great titles suggested by others here--Proof is awesome, and I've used Doll's House for several years now. Arsenic and Old Lace and You Can't Take It With You are wonderful comedies that kids get a kick out of. If you'd like to challenge them a bit with some more genre/style ...

Hi all! We are doing a production of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (Dramatic Publishing version) this spring. For the opening scene when we first see Narnia, I'd like to do a short duet dance between the White Stag and the Unicorn. I am looking for some instrumental music that is similar in mood ...

Hi Alex-- I would also recommend Google Classroom. I started using it during second semester and I love it! It's easier than Google Sites, it looks really neat and clean which makes it easy for kids to navigate, it's secure, and it works seamlessly with other Google tools like Docs, Drive, etc. ...

If you have a rubric that you use for adjudicating Chapter Select pieces at state conference, would you mind sharing it here? I'm just curious what other states use, as there is not a standardized rubric (to the best of my knowledge). MN uses our state high school league rubric, but it puts a bit ...

We are in our 4th year as a Thespian Troupe and we have had elected officers each year. However, I struggle with what exactly the officers should do. I thought I would reach out and see what all of you do with your officers. How often do you meet? Who sets the agenda? What initiatives/projects/events ...

I did this several years ago and the camps are still being offered--next one in a couple of weeks. I got the idea after a Masters class I took at the U of MN on Critical Literacy and Storytelling. The class was training for the Neighborhood Bridges program, a year-long artist residency program offered ...

All of our students have Google accounts through our school, so we mostly use Google tools. The Production Team has a shared Google folder. Each department has a folder within the shared folder where they can save important documents--designs, plans, contact information for crew members, schedules, ...

Hi again! Another question/conversation came up at our MN board meeting last night about which we would love some advice and feedback. As mentioned before, the MN Chapter has been growing steadily over the last few years. When we started, there were only a few adults on the board and the primary ...

Two different Pub Crawls are in the works--one on Thursday night that will focus on northeast and downtown Mpls and one on Saturday after MM/DG that will highlight the U of MN area. Details available soon--but Thursday night will likely feature a piano/polka bar, a drag show, and a dueling piano bar!! ...

Hi all! Over the past few years, the MN State Board has been growing quite a bit, and we are now at the point where we need to formalize our structure and roles more than they have been in the past. We know there are many of you out there who have been running incredibly well-structured, effective ...

I love the FOP idea. Our school does the Link Crew program--a small group of freshmen students is assigned a Link Crew Leader. The Link Leader leads them through orientation and then connects with them in their homeroom classes throughout the school year. As for recruiting, we have a similar Activities ...
