we JUST did this show in November, had our orchestra on stage (it was a lot of planning as they were on the upper level of our set) and we had 23 total (I think that included the pit conductor. I'd have to double check what was used, but I do know we had several students double up on playing instruments ...

When we did this show in the spring, we bought cheap plastic weapons and then painted them to look good. We bought a wooden sword for Agnus, and painted the handle only, we wanted it looking very basic. but the rest, buy cheap and paint to look better.. I've done a clothing drive. (there are placing that will pay by the pound) so everyone dropped it off with us, and we organized the pick up/drop off so we got the money don't recall the specifics, but it worked well.  What about trying to do a variety show and ask donations.. no out of pocket expense ...

I found some heavy duty shelving units with wire shelves at Menards (less than $150 each) I redid my entire prop room. I was concerned about weight and wood shelves bowing..so the wire worked great.. I would buy them again if I was doing it all over again..  I would think any home improvement store ...

We are going through this right now. I think we are now using the original version (where Agnes and Vera are adults) the "new" YA version (pink spine I believe) where they are high schoolers totally changes the relationships within the show.  Agreed, it is all very confusing! ------------------------------ ...
