I did House of Bernarda Alba one year (all women) and didn't balance with a boys show in rep - my boys weren't thrilled but were pretty understanding when I explained to them the ...

I've never produced it, but it's on my wish list & one of my trusted colleagues has done it and highly recommends it. ------------------------------ Michelle Ludwig ...

Check out www.accenthelp.com. It's run by a professor of theatre & voice at the University of Houston (Jim Johnson). Great text resources -- succinct but thorough -- and great audio files, all downloadable. Each package runs about $25. A wide variety of accents to choose from as well. I've used New York, ...

Hi Carolyn, May I recommend Piece of My Heart by Shirley Lauro (a play about women in the Vietnam War) and The Cover of Life by R.T. Robinson (about a family of sister-in-laws whose husbands are in WWII). Both have significant messages, lots of meaty female roles, and a few opportunities for the ...
