I'm wondering if any of your schools impose an academic eligibility requirement for drama students to participate. Admin here is applying the guidelines as written in the athletic handbook and I don't believe it can be translated directly in terms of probation periods, sitting out for practices and events, ...

Our school has the opportunity to make repairs throughout the building and I'm advocating some work be done on our stage. Specifically, the floor is just white tile and cracking horribly. It is in desperate need of replacement and this may be my chance to make it happen. Question is, what kind of flooring ...

We staged "Alice in Wonderland" a couple of years ago and did a tea party fundraising event. I was skeptical but it was a huge hit and well worth the effort. Donations are key - we gathered more than 2 dozen tea cups and saucers, teapots, and cream/sugar sets from the collections of myself, mother, mother-in-law, ...

Thoughts, tips, techniques, cautions from any who have staged Little Women? Is there one script better than another? Can ...

Ah the joys of too much to do and not enough students to go around. I, too, fight this battle but add to it soccer, softball, and baseball season that typically coincides with our winter/spring production schedule and kids in the cast on those teams. A few years ago I changed my rehearsal time and now ...

Try "The Frog Princess." Plot involves queen who must divide the country among her three sons, each of whom are incredibly different. So she assigns several tasks (finding a wife, her cooking skills, sewing skills, and some others) and the hilarity ensues. Twist is the girl the youngest son chooses is ...

Our show goes up this weekend and I highly recommend it - "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" based on books by Robert Fulghum and available from Dramatic Publishing. The script includes a large variety of scenes and can be done with flexible cast. The book comes with the musical numbers ...

Have you looked at Pioneer's version by Willard Simms? I did it with my high school cast last year and got rave reviews. ------------------------------------------- Elizabeth Phillips teacher/director Memphis Community Schools Memphis MI -------------------------------------------
