The Monologue Show (From Hell) by Don Zolidis (Playscripts) might work for you.  Also, for longer monologues you could look at The Right to Remain Silent by Mark Fauser and Brent Briscoe (Eldridge Plays). ------------------------------ Jerry Seeger Director of Theatre The Sagemont School Plantation ...

You could try www.yourstagepartners.com.  Your students can create a free account and then be able to access complete plays for free.  Under the Resources tab, you will find free monologues.  The site features plays for middle school and high school.  Amy Sando's suggestions are also ones I have used ...

Are streaming rights available for any of those?  I know Dramatists has on its site a link to TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES: PLAYS FOR ONLINE THEATRE but I don't think all its plays are available to stream. ------------------------------ Jerry Seeger Director of Theatre The Sagemont School Plantation ...

If you have to ZOOM (and depending on your community) you might take a look at The Right to Remain Silent at Eldridge plays (www.histage.com).  It is a play consisting mostly of monologues of people having their mugshots taken.  Written by Mark Fauser and the late Brent Briscoe, it has no set and might ...

I am really late to this discussion, but you and I are on the same page.  For years, I have used SRA for early monologue work and it has, for the most part, been successful.  I would welcome a copy of your adaptation.  Thank you for offering your adaptation to the community. jseeger@sagemont.com ...

I like that you are creating a devised theatre piece and I hope your students are all-in!  The Right to Remain Silent is mostly a monologue show involving individuals having their mug shots taken while they speak to the police officer.  There is language involved but the publisher, Eldridge Plays (histage.com) ...

Thank you for your thoughts.  Did you have any pushback from students or parents?  My administration, and the school counselor are 100% behind my selection and the conversations it can bring.  The principal and the counselor have both read it and feel it is a conversation that needs to take place. ...

My school is starved for classroom space and I was approached today about utilizing the stage in the gym for my classroom.  I think it would be great to have my students working on a stage in what amounts to a studio theatre environment.  I would also use the space for my rehearsals after school which ...

Because I rehearse in my classroom, I have capped my cast size at 30.  I tried a larger cast once before but the cramped confines of my classroom created issues and those who were not on stage at the time resorted to talking throughout making it challenging to accomplish anything. ------------------------------ ...

We held our inaugural Fine Arts Signing Day last April and will hold our next one Wednesday, April 25, 2018.  Our first was very successful and we were able to get a reporter and photographer from the local press.  The story first appeared online and a friend of mine shared it on Facebook. This week, ...

Two years ago, as a freshman, my daughter joined my program. I created an audition panel so everything would be fair and included a member of administration on the panel. He cast my daughter as Frenchy in our production of Grease. Later that year, she won Critics Choice at both the district and state ...

My school has installed these in every classroom and teachers are encouraged to use them. However, I don't know of any applications for an acting class. Does anyone have experience with these? Sent from my iPad

I also directed Twelve Angry Jurors in arena style seating which worked very well. Many in south Florida had never seen any show in arena style seating so it was a great educational event for the audience as well as my actors. Last year, we staged Our Town in 3/4 which also worked quite well and its ...

As the subject line indicates, I am in need of titles of musicals which may be performed in a Catholic high school with many more women than men (sometimes 4 to 1) auditioning. Also, my men, for the most part, are not strong singers/dancers. They operate without fear but would be the first to tell you ...
