I need a table that will work for this show. I tried a regular rectangular table, but I don't like that the audience is below the stage and they can't see the people in the back. Then I tried a very narrow mtg table with two trapezoidal tables on each end so it looked like a "U", but it looks more like ...

In my many years of Community Theatre, and my many visits of High School Showcases, there is not royalty involved when using different songs from different musicals or even single songs. This is why many organizations do "Variety Shows" usually with a theme, so they can get some good money in their pockets! ...

I was in Company by Stephen Sondheim, it is a series of vignettes with song. A couple of company numbers. Easy sets. Easy rehearsals, i.e. small groups. ------------------------------ Kim Silverman Director of Theatre The Grier School Tyrone PA ------------------------------

We are presenting The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, abridged, and there are a few lines in there that I feel are too risqué for a high school presentation, even though it is one of the most often presented plays. My specific areas of concern are " the ass of a man and hung like a donkey" , "Female ...

OMG! I am also a theatre teacher, now. I used to teach Spanish, for 11 years, and produce shows on the side as an extra curricular activity. The administration was so impressed with the shows that they decided that I should create a theatre department! The only draw back is that I AM the theatre department. ...

I have had the same situation. One year Ill have 12, and the next year, two classes of five! I find that they love the party game, freeze, Oprah (I call it "Ellen" now), bus stop. I also give them scene work to do, some just for the experience of cold reading, but you can also ask them to read the parts ...
