Ideally, the company could also assist us with installation. We are located in St. Charles, MO. Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions? Thanks, ...

I directed Little Shop 6 years ago, and we rented the plants from the SIUE theater department.  I had a parent volunteer who had access to a moving truck and some free time, so he picked them up to help us avoid delivery fees.  If my memory is correct, I think what we paid for rentals would be in your ...

We did "A Play About A Dragon" by Steph DeFerie last Fall, and the students and audiences loved it! It is family friendly and funny.  There is opportunity for sword fighting and physical comedy.  There is a dragon of course.  My set crew had a great time creating the dragon.  We do not have a fly system ...

We have used a small electric fake fire for a fire place.  It only lights up and does on put out any heat.  Our fire place was placed against the backdrop, so we ran the cord under the backdrop and plugged it in backstage. ------------------------------ Theresa Velazquez Spanish Teacher Theater ...

I charge $30 for all cast and crew.  This fee covers food at the end of production celebration (a small party after striking), t-shirt, and helps with some production costs.  We also have some financial aid for students who need it, so that everyone can participate if they would like to.  Sports cost ...

We did A Play About A Dragon this fall, and it was a lot of fun.  It provided opportunities for swordplay and physical comedy.  We also got to create a dragon! We had a cast of 13 with a two actors playing two or more characters.  It was a light-hearted creative challenge for my students.  The audience ...

We did Jon Jory's Adaptation of Pride and Prejudice this Fall.  It was an excellent challenge and gave me the opportunity to showcase several very talented senior girls.  I teach and direct at a small Catholic high school, so we are also somewhat limited in what we can produce, and the new adaptation ...

I directed Jon Jory's Pride and Prejudice in the Fall, and it was so much fun! I chose it because I have very strong group of junior and senior girls and a few boys, and I wanted to feature them in strong roles. We were fortunate to be able to borrow and rent most of the costumes. Our biggest challenges ...

I have done several successful shows with this method. In my opinion, the most important thing is to have a different sound file for every cue and clearly label everything and put it in order. Even if the exact same sound effect or music comes up in two different times in the show, I've found that it's ...

I'm a student for Mrs. Velazquez, and I had a question about copyright laws for a one-act I am writing. One of the important plot points involves two main characters singing popular songs against their will. If I were to only have the characters sing a refrain or another brief part from the song, would ...

Hello! We just put on a production of Harvey in November. We did make a few small edits for example, the stage direction that call for Wilson to try to spank myrtle -- we just staged a different way, and we did change Sanderson's line "I never mention your name except in my sleep" to "I never mention ...

I completely understand! I face this issue as well as especially as a newer teacher. One small step that I have been making is trying to read an article or two while eat lunch instead of grading papers. It's a nice break for me, and I found that is professionally helpful as well as getting some practical ...
