I passionately disagree that the play is irrelevant, just having seen a brilliant production at the Utah Shakespeare Festival.  While true that the play does not really explore African-American issues, it does explore bigotry against people from other countries, which has also been in the news lately. ...

The Junior versions are great!  Your idea sounds like it will build your program by inviting younger people in.  The Jr. versions also build your program because the audience members like the familiar material and the shorter show.  Go for it! ------------------------------ Joshua Brady Menifee ...

I did this show in high school. I had a great experience and still love the music. However, it is the only show that I can remember hearing a cross word about from my parents. They remarked that the kids could not really get the feelings they were attempting to portray. Looking back, I think they most ...

That means that they can get a half point for reviewing either a school show or some other production. However, it also allows ...

However, Orson Scott Card has a free version, already slightly amended for public performance, on his website. If you acknowledge him in the program, ...

For example, at my school, we have more body mikes on paper than we have that work. Knowing ...

If Shakespeare is forbidden but the Elizabethans are not, I would go with something by Marlowe. There is a great one from the second part of Tamburlaine that begins "Well, bark, ye dogs!" Marlowe's Faustus could be another great source. Jason in Euripedes' Medea could also work. If he wants to stay classic ...

Does anybody have (or know of) a ready-made list of objectives for use as improv scenarios and acting exercises? I have seen such a list earlier but cannot find it now. A quick search of the internet yielded results focused more on possible scenarios, rather than pinpointing an objective or intention. ...

In California, our marching band students and certain choir classes can receive PE credit due to the physically demanding nature of these classes. Outside of dance or musical dance theatre, does anybody's school system allow similar credit for a theatre class? My administration has indicated willingness ...
