  • 1.  Theatre History curriculum -- Any resources out there?

    Hello hive mind!

I'm searching for a high school-level theatre history curriculum (college would work too--I can adapt).  What's out there? Trying to not reinvent wheels.
    • Power points?
    • Unit outline?
    • Representative text list?
    • Project-based?
I'd love anything you got, I'm looking to squeeze this unit into about 11 class days with advanced high school seniors.

    Thank you!

    Ben

Check out the Brigham Young University website. They have tons of unit plans for various subjects of Theatre including Theatre history
History of Theatre | BYU Theatre Education Database

History of Theatre | BYU Theatre Education Database
Curriculum units under "History of Theatre" include theatre history time periods, theatre genres and 'isms/styles, how theatre and its jobs came to be, and cohesive theatre/acting methods. These units can stand by themselves, or lessons and ideas from them can be inserted into other curriculum work to make connections between the history of theatre and a specific theatre concept/skill.

Here is a set of lessons I did with our Musical theatre Class re: Les Miserables.

(Note that the third lesson is specific to our artistic design of the show.)

My apologies for not creating easier to use links - I could not get them to cooperate!
