Open Forum

One of the groups I work with is considering an outside performance in April or May. Problems are having enough lighting and sound enhancements without too much money spent. It's a lot of renting equipment and set up. 

A community theatre I work with just had a jr musical performed outside the Playhouse. Everyone brought their own chairs and we had a huge crowd! The show, We Are Monsters, has music included and is geared toward middle school students. We had mics set up outside (no individual mics) and a few flood lights. The stage was a cement slab. It all worked well because the show is simple, has no set and is created for several small groups on stage at one time. They had see-through masks on the whole time. Elementary and middle school have the cute factor so it is not going to be as polished and professional as you would like with high schoolers. But, the friends and families loved it. They were all grateful for live theatre!
