There's a play about Marilyn Monroe called
Best Always, Marilyn Monroe by Kathleen McBlair that deals with her two husbands and the effect of the paparazzi. I suspect you could get permission to add to the cast in things like hospital scenes or bring offstage voices on. The other Marilyn play is by Arthur Miller called
After the Fall, but that's more about their relationship and marriage. I've heard about a newish Elvis play but I don't know that it's been published yet. If you'd be interested in that, let me know and I'll try to find it for you.

Subject: American plays plays set in the 1920s or plays about Celebrity Culture
Hey there,
I am thinking of producing CHICAGO (the high school version) next season and am looking for a play that might compliment it in one of two ways......1. Set during the same time period; or, 2. Contain themes revolving around celebrity culture and the media.
Any suggestions? I am hoping for a cast of 10-15 for the play.
Cheers!
