    Happy October!

With special effects becoming more and more cost effective, increasingly available and expected, and with Halloween just over two weeks away (where did this year go?!?), it's important that these effects are executed as they are designed, performance after performance.

Courtesy of our friends at the University of California (UC) Performing Arts Safety Center of Excellence, the attached document is featured as the October ANSI Standard of the month - E1.23 - 2010 (R2015) : Entertainment Technology - Design and Execution of Theatrical Fog Effect. This document will guide you through planning and carrying out fog effects so that recognized exposure levels are not exceeded, fire and egress hazards are not created, and false alarms don't summon the fire brigade.

Wishing all of your productions, special events, and haunted houses stay safe!

    Hans
