  • 1.  mentally ill monologue search

    Hello! I am looking for a female monologue (teens-late twenties) in which the speaker is crazy/mentally ill. It could be comedic or dramatic, and the more intense the better. Any suggestions are helpful. Thank you!

    The 10th Man, Paddy Chayefsky.  References Judaism quite a bit.  It was one my favorites 800 years ago when I was in high school and one of my audition pieces that got me into the Acting Conservatory at SUNY Purchase.  Character (I forget her name) is pretty young and speaks to a handsome young man older than her.  She is schizophrenic and starts to hallucinate during the speech.  She regains lucidity and becomes humiliated.

    Standing on My Knees by John Olive is about an author who needs medication to "function normally," but the medication decreases her writing talent.  Great script that could prove interesting.
