    MTI continually has it tied up because of touring companies' productions. I see a scenario of there ALWAYS being a touring production. I really don't think a high school/community theatre production will be stiff competition for any touring production. 
    It offers so many roles for girls in our programs. 
    MTI is always very nice with their denial of rights communication.

    I did Annie with my high school students this past March. Sorry you are having trouble getting the license.

    Don't be afraid to challenge them on availability.  I had to go round and round with them to allow us to perform Fiddler on the Roof  years ago because of a touring group performing two hours away.  I was able to convince them that our little rural SW Iowa production would not hurt their ticket sales, in fact, it might increase them because our high school cast might be more likely to go if we were also producing it.  MIT and the touring company finally saw the light and gave us permission, but it took a while.

    Don't give up and speak with someone directly on the phone.
